January
The year starts with the Deep Sea Fishermen’s Benefit Fund Annual Crab Feed. The date is not set in stone and depends on what happens during the commercial crab season. The event raises money for an emergency fund to help anglers and their families.
February
It’s Stout Month! Fort George has hosted the event since 2007, and it’s the best way to try a variety of dark, malty stouts from various local breweries.
March
Wine enthusiasts should plan on being here for UnWined in March. It’s the best way to sample some of the best award-winning wines in the state. April
If you love a tall glass of wine and a seafood dinner, try some of the best samples at the Astoria Warrenton Crab, Seafood & Wine Festival. This annual event takes place over a whole weekend. Roughly 12,000 people and 150 vendors attended the event to taste what northern Oregon offers.
May
This month kicks off the weekly Astoria Sunday Market. This event occurs on Mother’s Day and runs until the second Sunday in October. Treat yourself to local arts and crafts, live music, and delicious treats.
Another great event is the Run on the River, Astoria’s half marathon, 10k, and 5k.
June
For more than 50 years, Astoria has been hosting its Scandinavian Midsummer Festival. Join the celebration for three days of gifts, music, dance, theater, and authentic food.
June is also when the Lower Columbia Q Center hosts the Astoria Pride Festival, which is always fun.
July
The big event in July is the Independence Day Fireworks. It’s a special show for those who are guests at the event. You’ll see an array of fireworks over the Columbia River in downtown Astoria. There is a parade and a community barbecue as well. There is also a free North Coast Symphonic Band concert on July 3.

August
From August to September, you can catch the Astor Street Opry Co. annual performance of “Shanghaied in Astoria.” It’s both a musical and a celebration of the city of Astoria.

October
Active guests will want to sign up early for the Great Columbia Crossing 10K Run/Walk in October. The marathon route runs over the Columbia River along the Astoria-Megler Bridge, one of the many scenic views in store for you.
